What a day for volunteering with Servathon 2009 and Greater DC Cares! Trees were planted, parks were cleaned, classrooms painted and people spent time with each other building the communities around DC metro area. The "after party" at The Washington Post was time to reflect and grab a bite to eat from tables full of sandwiches, cookies, chips and even beer from Hooks and Ladder! Thanks to Lauren Conte and William Fettweiss for keeping the teams informed and helping coordinate such a great effort to assist organizations across the metro area for the two day project. A special thanks to Alexandra Simms for the best team member (Nakeva's DC Social Scene For Good) fundraising efforts on short notice! Also, thanks to The Washington Post for sharing the facilities after a day of hard work and fun volunteer efforts.

Great pictures!! I had a great time at the Servathon 2009. I don't think I have ever done anything like this before. I hope next year we can bring the kids along and start a tradition. :)
