Embassy of New Zealand and The Granulosa Cell Tumour Foundation New Zealand

Reception at Long View Gallery Nov. 7th

Washington, DC -  The Granulosa Cell Tumour Foundation, New Zealand  supported by the Embassy of New Zealand and the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation will host a reception Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 7:00 – 9:30 pm as a part of The Gynecological Cancer Foundation’s Awareness Movement Weekend at Long View Gallery in Washington, DC. This will be the organization’s first United States event.

The event, held in honor of GCTF’s Founder, Sladjana M. Crosley, who succumbed to GCT in April 2009 after a 13 year battle with the disease ,will include hors d’eourves from the world famous Anchor Bar, cocktails, a beer, wine and cheese tasting provided by some of New Zealand’s finest vineyards and creameries, a silent auction with items from DC’s best dining and shopping destinations, and music by The Latin Jazz Project along with a viewing of Long View Gallery’s current collection of works. This event is open to the public and advance RSVP is required. Tickets available at http://www.gctf.org.nz/benefit

The Granulosa Cell Tumour Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Auckland, New Zealand performing research and providing support to sufferers of GCT. Granulosa cell tumours are a very rare form of ovarian cancer and therefore have received less attention from researchers.  Founded in 2004, the foundation’s mission is to provide women with information and knowledge about the disease while raising funds to support GCT- specific research in order to develop more effective treatments.
